UK launch time of Apple iPad 2 confirmed and updated UK iPad 2 pricing
According to Apple's latest press release which confirmed the exact launch time of the iPad 2 in the UK to be 5pm on 25th March 2011, as well as the the pricing for the the range of iPad2's the pricing is as below:.
- iPad2 16GB wi-fi model is £399 (compared to iPad1 16gb wifi only version which was £429)
- iPad2 32Gb Wifi Only is £479
- iPad2 64Gb Wifi version is £559
The 3G versions cost £100 more down the line for the privilege, so pricing will start at £499.
The poly smart cover will be £35, and a leather iPad 2 covers are £59.
The equivalent iPad 2, turns out to be cheaper than the Motorola Xoom (as we show, when you consider the basic wi-fi Xoom (with 32GB of memory) is £499, as opposed to Apple’s £479.
Quoting Robert Peckham,(The former Executive Director of the Mac Technology Association reseller group): “iPad 2 will be available at Apple retail stores and select Apple authorised resellers at 5pm local time.”
CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, noted: “We’re experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the US, and customers around the world have told us they can’t wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”
As one of our previous post stated, there really isn't any alternative to the iPad2 which makes sense.
So If you're not one who enjoys queuing, it might be some time before you can get your hands one one of them.
