iPad 2 pricing is cheaper than iPad 1
It is not often that the next and newest model of a technological gadget turns out to be cheaper than it's predecessor.
When it comes to the iPad 2 however, it seems the resell price of your older iPad1 has fallen a bit, because as the Unofficial Apple WebBlog points out, the iPad2 is cheaper than the iPad1 was:
As for pricing, here are some numbers. MacStories points out that the Italian pricing is €479,00 for the WiFi 16 GB model, €579,00 for the WiFi 32 GB model and €679,00 for WiFi 64 GB. The WiFi + 3G models will be available for €599,00, €699,00 and €799,00.
Meanwhile, in The UK, customers will pay £399.00 for the 16 GB model, £479.00 for the 32 GB model, £559.00 for the 64 GB model. Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available for £499.00, £579.00 and £659.00. That's cheaper than the first iPad and an even better value considering VAT in the UK went up from 17.5% to 20%.
Finally, our friends in Australia will pay $579, $689 and $799 for the 16 GB, 32 GB and and 64 GB Wi-Fi models, respectively, and $729, $839 and $949 for the Wi-Fi + 3G models.
As with most Apple technology it still has a really good 2nd hand price, but you will no doubt have to pay in after selling off your iPad1 to a "slow adopter"
